How was this calculated?
Batteries wear in two ways: by being used (charge cycles) and by getting older (calendar aging).
We count charge cycles from the energy that went through the battery (distance × consumption),
and add calendar aging adjusted for climate, how full you usually charge and battery type. Both slow down over time,
which is why most of the loss happens in the first years. The model is calibrated on published fleet data,
but it's a rough estimate: the real health of a specific car also depends on its battery management and history.
Ranges are for mixed driving in mild weather (about 80% of the official WLTP range); in summer you'll get
roughly 10% more, in winter or on the motorway 10-25% less.
